Xa3. Xa/2 is, imo, overrated. Cliche term but the focus throw on the xa2 is short, although if you feel you want the control go for it. Personally i got the xa3 because i already have multiple manual cameras and want something that gets outta the way. The xa4 has a 28mm 3.5 macro lens vs a 35mm 2.8, so you gotta consider your style

In manual, exposure compensation is meaningless and the dial doesn't do anything. The exposure compensation display on the rear screen and in the EVF however changes its purpose slightly, and effectively becomes an old fashioned light meter / exposure meter.
